Kepler, Johannes: Somnium – Traum vom Mond
Nach über neun Jahren Vorarbeit erfolgte 1609 die Drucklegung von Keplers wissenschaftlichem Hauptwerk, der Neuen Astronomie, in dem er eine Erklärung der Planetenbewegungen formulierte. In diesem Jahr schrieb Kepler auch den Traum vom Mond, in dem er, eingebettet in eine märchenhafte Erzählung, das von ihm weiterentwickelte kopernikanische Weltbild veranschaulicht: Ein Geist berichtet dem träumenden Erzähler von der Reise zum Mond und von den dortigen Verhältnissen wie der Bewegung der Erde, Jahreszeiten, Sonnen- und »Erdfinsternissen«.
