PRS-505 will not start

After lengthy non-use, I assume battery has discharged. I have recharged with AC power - red light comes on, then ultimately goes off. Have hit reset button for 10 or so seconds. But it still won't turn on. Any suggestions?

How long have you had it, and how long did you not use it?

If you shut it off via the slider key and didn't use it for a long period of time, that might be the problem. That only puts the Reader in standby.

Have you tried connecting via USB and charging for a day?

There's some general advice in this thread:
https://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21337
and here:
https://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=32352

Please note that after resetting you need to toggle the power switch, otherwise nothing happens.

I hope this helps. Welcome to the forum, by the way.

Hi camai7 and welcome to the Forum. Have you called Sony Support regarding your problem. I've had good luck with them
