Question converting PDFs with equations

Most of the documents I'd like to convert using Calibre are PDFs of scientific papers that include lots of equations. I am trying to convert them to mobipocket format for my Kindle. I haven't been able to get the equations to display correctly (or even readably) in the first few I've tried. As per someone else's suggestion, I tried downloading ABC PDF converter and converting to RTF first, but that doesn't do any better (even in the RTF). I'd really appreciate any help.

as far as i know, other than redering the pdf as a collection of images, there is no way to satisfactorily convert mathematics.

Oh well. Thank you for the quick reply (and for Calibre itself!).

Given that, do you know of any tools that *will* render PDFs as a collection of graphics for me?

Adobe Acrobat or Ghostscript will render PDFs as a collection of graphics.

Kindle is definitely not the right reader for someone interested in technical material. Almost any other device would be better, unfortunately.

PDFLRF is a great tool, but it'll add an extra step, since you'll need to convert the LRF to Mobi afterwards. You might want to try a similar tool, PDFRead, with .PRC output:

Thank you. PDFRead seems to do the job nicely.
