Snow Leopard + Calibre 0.6 = CRASH! :( - Page 3

There are enough other incompatibilities with Snow Leopard that I'll definitely be holding fire on upgrading.

It crashes really often for me, but I've gotten quite adept at launching (and re-launching, and re-re-launching) through Quicksilver. Two or three times usually does the trick. It's amazing what we'll put up with to use a favorite piece of software.

ETA - in spite of all the crashes, I haven't lost any data - I'm very pleased about that.

I have leopard running in a VM now and am trying to build a 64 bit coca based calibre build. Hopefully that will work on SL. Stay tuned!

Yay! Here's hoping! It's a pain in the but to open a virtual machine (hogging all my resources) for something I use multiple times a day! Thanks Kovid!

Just an update, almost there. I had to write my own app to package calibre into a .app bundle as py2app doesn't work with 64bit installs. Hopefully that should be done by the end of today.

Calibre is a lifesaver for me anyway. The Sony software is junk even on the Mac.
If Calibre for SL dosen't work out (it eventually will I'm sure) I still use can Calibre with VM Ware also.

Kovid, haven't you learned anything from American politics. You ride the wave of support, collect the contributions and then, if the release fails, you blame it on Apple. :-)

All kidding aside, even if it does not work, your constant efforts to keep this excellent program working and improving more than earn you a call for paypal contributions.
