I have just tried converting a document to eBook with font embedding. It works as intended.
Do you mean that the font files from your document do not get included in the EPUB file (package), and there is no "Ops/fonts" folder? |

Tried on the same pc with the 1.6.5.9 - the (same) fonts are embedded. mh, that's odd... |

Are you sure that the "Save and embed" option is selected in the "Fonts" box of the "Save as eBook" dialog (see attached screenshot)?
Please click the "Exceptions..." button in the "Save as eBook" dialog. Are there any fonts checked? Could you please email your document file (RTF, DOC, or DOCX) to support@AtlantisWordProcessor.com? Could you please email your current Atlantis settings to support@AtlantisWordProcessor.com? Please choose the "Tools | Options..." menu command of Atlantis, click the "Save to File..." button, and save your current Atlantis settings as "Atlantis.ini". Please email this .ini file to support@AtlantisWordProcessor.com. |

THAT'S odd!! for making the data you wanted I safed the tested book in the old version, made screens and then installed the new beta again over it, made the shots too - and in the safed epub are the fonts this time!! but I'm sure, the selected options were the same...
ok, forget it - it seems to self-repaired with the new installation. |

Hi awp,
just found a new "problem"... The handling of hyperlinks is wonderful in AWP - but there is no handling with mail-adresses at all by export to epub... In the AWP the links and the "mail.to:" are shown - but in the epub is only the href for the hyperlink, the mailadress is shown in blue/underlined - but with a klick on it no maileditor opens... and in the text is only the format from the link and the text as is:
testadress@test.com
can this be fixed? An is there a possibillity to implement a "switch" for the "linear=" according to the following: "Reading Systems must provide a means of rendering a Publication in the order defined by the spine, which includes: 1) recognizing the first primary (linear='yes') item in the spine as the beginning of the main reading order of the Publication..." Some readers are "making fun" - escpecially, when the epub consists of more than one book and with the first opening they don't jump to the first cover... Atlantis Word Processor "deactivates" the "mailto" hyperlinks by intention when saving as EPUB. I think that there is no point in having clickable email addresses in EPUBs since most (portable) eReaders do not have an email client application.
Why do you need clickable email addresses in your EPUBs? |

Not all readers use a device. There are many eReader programs for the PC/Mac that have email clients and react to a clicked 'mail to' link.
The iPad/iPhone, and I assume the kindle HD/nook HD??, have email clients. The trend in devices is towards MORE capability than just a reader. Why buy a $200 reader when for a $100 more I can get one that does so much more?? Last edited by Turtle91; 01-27-2013 at 08:31 AM. |

OK, but what is a point of making an EPUB that works fine only on specific devices?
There is no technical difficulty with "enabling" "mailto" hyperlinks in EPUBs generated by Atlantis Word Processor. No difficulty at all. The question is: do those "mailto" links make sense in EPUBs? |

lol...I think you were writing your post at the same time I wrote mine!
The issue is not making them work right for specific devices, the issue is NOT LETTING them work right on any devices that COULD support them. If you enable the mailto feature, and the user's device doesn't support an email client, then the user will not know the difference. If the user's device DOES support an email client then NOT having it enabled will appear as if the ePub is broken. Last edited by Turtle91; 01-27-2013 at 01:57 PM. |

Any next release of Atlantis Word Processor will save email addresses to EPUB as clickable hyperlinks.
