Device: Astak Pocket Pro (prospective)

Hello
Just got an EXReader Pocket Pro for my birthday and love it! This is my first dedicated e-reader, but I've been reading books on handheld and pocket computers (HPLX's and Jornada) since the mid-nineties (thanks to Project Gutenberg!).
Since everyone chimes in on things they'd like on the next version, here's my two cents: 1) a kickstand in the back so it can stand up by itself while you're reading it at the table. 2) earphone jack on top instead of bottom so it can stand level on an exercise machine (I like to blot out the gym music with my own and read at the same time--this is a fantastic device for it). 3) backlight and/or contrast/brightness levels would be nice. But even without these there are plenty of work-arounds for these and other problems. All in all, an amazing device for the money. And the storage is terrific! I've accumulated about 8 gigs of ebooks over the years and can put them all on this device. The only problem I have with the machine is that the audio on mine is really poor--it sounds like an old AM car radio with the speaker blown. It's possible there's something wrong with the sound card on mine. Does anyone else have this problem? I'm glad this forum is here to answer questions from more experienced people. |
