Kobo wireless - Pearl screen?

According to this review from CrunchGear the Kobo wireless uses the Pearl screen, is that correct? I didn't think Kobo was using the new screen. My wife is starting to come around to the idea of e-readers (she's running out of space for all of her books) and if the Kobo wireless uses the Pearl screen that would be one more model to consider.

it doesn't have the pearl screen, but many people have said that there is still a noticeable improvement from the original Kobo

Plaid is correct. I have an original Kobo and looked at the new one yesterday. The new screen is a little better than the original (graphics look better because the gray levels is up to 16), but it's still that less-than-black text contrast. I've got a Kindle 3 with the pearl screen and the text contrast and resolution is noticeably better.
