Kindle fire alternative touchscreen

Hey guys I was wondering If its possible to modify the kindle fire to use a smart phone as its exterior touchpad instead of its own touch screen. the touchscreen control digitalizer inside is damaged only rendering it useless. oh and the phone(new touchpad) will connect to the kindle with a usb cable temporarily until I have money to get a new TSCD.

Which model? I'm thinking a Bluetooth keyboard would work. Not so much another Android device though.

The Fire (non HD or HDX) does not have Bluetooth, and the USB port does not support host mode, so you can't hook up keyboard/mouse that way. In theory you could root and install a VNC server on there but that's probably not possible without a functioning touch screen.
