[B]Is there an ETA for the next firmware rel.[B]
Any eta for when a new firmware might get release? I have owned many different readers in the past, and I have never complained, but this is amazing that kobo is not more aggressively putting a fix out there for all the bugs.

Kobo never make any announcement as to when to expect a new firmware.

It's only been a month and a half (or so). With the Christmas break in there.
Still, they have been averaging between 1 and 3 (or 4) months between releases. |

It could be that definite dates are not given in case they cannot be met. I can only speak from an iOS perspective but we tend not to publicly disclose dates for a couple of reasons, one of the main ones being that one the app is submitted to Apple for approval, we cannot say exactly when it will be approved. Typically it's around 14 days, but it could be sooner or later than that, it's in Apple's hands at that point.
Another reason would be that we may find some issue that takes longer than expected to address, or a new features function has to be changed, again delaying things. |
