I'm sure this is only a matter of changing hw config sections and/or uboot loader in the first 1 MB of the image. It helped with my previous image with Debian: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...7&postcount=30 First, I would try to copy "HW CONFIG" section only. If it still doesn't work I would try to replace uboot loader but it cannot be just copied like "HW CONFIG" from original Kobo SD card, because it must be configured differently to boot from ramdisk. Basicaly, if someone fix bootloader - the rest should run ok. |

As I said before in this thread : I find a good software which can switch off the screen light (in fact it low it down to 1%, it's enough on my kobo to turn it off ) : Display brightness https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...ightness&hl=en regards |

Seriously I would try another way. On the blog with Tolino software there is table with offsets telling where kernel and ramdisk lies. I would copy original Kobo SD card. Then replace only the kernel from Tolino's device. If it doesn't boot - you know it's the kernel. In that case you need to merge Android only changes to your kernel. But if it boots - you can just unpack ramdisk to ext4 partition and copy other partition content to /system and /data subfolder of the ramdisk structure unpacked to partition and comment out mount section ("mount /system" and "mount /data") in init rc script. But I'm afraid that replacing uboot section will be needed, too. I can't help you with that - I never had to do this, but you can google for it. What's important is to build uboot from Kobo Mini sources and to modify boot command to init from ramdisk. Last edited by MarekGibek; 11-16-2013 at 08:31 AM. |

Touch rotation patch
Here is how touch rotation can be fixed in Android sources:
https://groups.google.com/forum/#!ms...c/7Zkh-WE1uuEJ The problem is - last time I was trying to compile Android from source codes I failed with compiling 2.3.4 version. I succeeded to compile 4.2.2 or newer only. |

What I mean is, I seem to have all the apks installed, busybox and su copied and linked correctly, and the only part of the root script that still didn't work is "push com.smart.swkey /data/data/com.smart.swkey" part because any access to data/data/ is denied... And afterwards, I still don't get any android launcher. What am I doing wrong? >_< From what I can tell I might actually have root access, but no launcher so I can't actually start any app. Or perhaps someone would be just so kind as to upload a rooted img.... I'd be most grateful. [edit] nevermind, I used Marek's awesome Touch image but undid 01-->00 resolution change. flashing now. Thanks Marek!! Did anyone start with the 1.1 version of the firmware, rather than from 1.0? What I noticed is that 1.2.4 is even more snappy than 1.0 but I can't tell if it's their app or the entire OS. Marek, the image file you've shared with us seems to have all your stuff (such as login to google play, your wireless authentication) etc.
Just saying... [edit] and I still haven't figured out how to log you out lol Last edited by sysKin; 11-17-2013 at 08:01 AM. |
