Can't Connect Kindle to Calibre

Everytime I try to connect my Kindle Gen 3 to Calibre, I get the following error message. I have uninstalled and re-installed Calibre to no effect. Help, please!


calibre, version 0.8.21
ERROR: Error: Error communicating with device

[Errno 30] Read-only file system: u'/media/Kindle/metadata.calibre'

I am not an expert on error messages but it looks like the file system is read only which is an os thing.
for windows open kindle drive from my computer.
right click on media and select properties and it will show you in the window if it is read only
