Unlocking my PRS 505

Hi board members

I just purchased a nice second hand PRS 505 from EBay, Australia. I have been researching these devices for a few weeks and had my heart set on the 505 due to it's clear screen.

And now I've gone and locked the thing and my pin won't unlock it. I wasn't even nervous about setting it up and hitting OK - but when I came to use it via Calibre I discovered I needed to unlock it. So I went to and have tried and tried without success. Each time I enter my 4 digit pin it returns to the number field for re-input.

I hope I don't have to go to Sony. I live in Australia and suspect my 505 was originally purchased from the States and I am reluctant to begin what I imagine may be a several week wait.

Can any one here help me out with this nasty problem?

Cheers, Mal from Cessnock AU
