[Old Thread] Simple portable epub reader (on a USB stick)

Upfront apologies if this is the wrong forum, but I couldn't find a right one.

I would like a very simple epub reader that I can start up from a USB stick. I have Calibre at home, so I need no frills. Just open a *.epub and read it.

TIA

Firefox Addon

Hi,

If you use the Firefox webbrowser on your USB-Stick you can install the EPUBReader addon. Check the following link:

http://www.epubread.com/en/

With this addon you can read the epub files in your browser !

Have a nice day !

Or - as long as the book has no DRM - change the file extension to zip, open the zip file, and read the book in your browser.

Thanks. That's what I was looking for. And what a superb epub reader.

Also for those of you reading this where the original problem is that you don't have admin rights at the office (because of which you couldn't install Calibre), Firefox comes with a USB stick version. Google "portableapps" and take it from there.

Another option is Sumatra PDF, the portable version. It is a standalone executable that can read ePUBs.
