I know how many books fit on a kindle!

Not really, because it depends on the size of each book you have downloaded, but I have 300 books on my kindle, and it only has 35 mg left. Not the best, since I fear wanting to read a book that I have in Calibre and not having it with me. But that is just me, a world class worrier.

That's not very much, what you've got on your reader. I've got 902 books and 264 MB free.
Do you have lots of graphic intense PDFs on your Kindle 2?

What size of books do you have? Huge dictionaries?
I've got over 500 books on my K2 with over half the memory free.

Wow, you guys are unbelievable. I get confused with more than 10 on mine at a time. I keep them in Calibre, safe and sound, until I am ready to read and then move them to Kindle. I keep about 6 on at a time.

I would guess that some books have been deleted on the device, but are being retained in the trash.

I have over a 1000 books on my Kindle and I am showing 480 mb left. I agree with mg, do you have graphic intensive books perhaps that are eating away at your space?

I have a K2, and I don't think I have a lot of graphic intensive books. I deleted the Calibre Ccatalog, because it took up a lot of space. I am going to have to look into this, because everyone else seems to be getting more books on their Ks. Thanks for letting me know.

Check your audible directory - a single audiobook can eat the entire space of a Kindle (even a DX). Also remove any extra music that you might have added.

The first day I had my K2 I loaded it up with around 2000 books just to see what would happen. The indexing took days and I had to keep my K2 plugged in because the battery quickly ran down. Without folders or a tagging system, it's kinda pointless to load up a ton of books.

I sent something to Amazon CS, and they said to call them. There is something wrong, you should be able to get 1000 books on the K2. Oh well, I don't really need 1000 books on the K2, I have Calibre!

I wish I could read enough to warrant having that many books on my Kindle!

But sadly work gets in the way. I have about 92 books on it and PLENTY of room left hehe.

I didn't say I read them, just that I put them there! Although I do read a lot more since I got my kindle. Add the fact that I have a problem with a finger, which has cut down on my knitting, and I might finish one book a week!
