Faulty PW2 screen?
I bought two kindle paperwhite 2013 models last week, one for my girlfriend and one for myself. Mine seems to have a screen fault and wondered If anyone has seen this before and if it is fixable at home or do I have to send it back?
Thanks Last edited by Hullywood; 12-13-2013 at 02:17 AM. Reason: Added image |

...what is the screen in particular? Pin-holes (bright specks), excessive LED variances in the bottom of the screen, otherwise uneven lighting, dust inside the screen? All these are quite usual faults mentioned in fault reports online. Hard to say how common in total statistics, of course.
Kindle PW2 (and PW1), of course, seem quite controversial products known for a larger-than-usual variance between screen quality and all sorts of anomalies that people report all the time. Usually none of the anomalies are in any way fixable at home. The best policy is contact the seller for replacement. |

The screen is misaligned. It's an mechanical assembly problem. Return it to Amazon.

Likely it was of the wrong dimensions for this site.
My feature request to administration would be that removed images would leave the image link intact. That would seem like a win-win situation. It seems like a disservice to readers to remove the informative content of images entirely, just because displaying them in-line would break the layout. Anyway, one more pet-peeve with PWs has been the tilted/crooked screens and screens misplaced inside the frame. I wonder if this was one of those. |

The screen is misplaced vertically within the frame, leaving a strip of light visible at the bottom.

The thread is worthless/useless without the photo. Whichever moderator that deleted the photo should be given a timeout.

Which part of "discussions or questions about the actions of the Moderating Team are not permitted on open forum" is it that you're failing to understand, Jon?
