Series Organization

Just looking for advice for organizing series'. Let's take the "Homecoming Saga" series by Orson Scott Card.

Would you put "Homecoming Saga" for the series name or "Homecoming Saga #1" so that you have the series and the order in the series that a book appears in? Or is there another field you should use for the order?

Select the title you're organizing, type 'E' or click Edit meta information to open the Edit Meta Information dialog. The series number is the field just after the Series: name field.

So you would enter 'Homecoming Saga' in the Series: field, and '1' in the following field.

Not only can you have book 1.00
you can fill in between

book 1.50 is valid

next thing for you to look at is the Preferences for Save and Send to device. This affects naming on folder only based readers.

setting: {series}/{series_index}-{title}
will pre-pend the book number onto the title, so they sort in book order in the readers title list
eg.
Homecoming_saga/1-The Memory of Earth

This is a nice feature when you want to add a novelette or short story into its proper spot within the series.
