Bug while exporting to Sony PRS-505?

While everything works perfectly OK with almost any format the PRS-505 reader accepts, I'm having a little issue when I export TXT files from Calibre's library to the device.

On the reader, they are renamed as Title - Author_Number, where "Number" is the progressive DB number used by Calibre.

So for example I have stuff like "The Art of War - Sun Tzu_767" in the reader, while the author of the book is flagged as "Unknown".

Also, sometimes when exporting to the reader's SD card, the last character of titles and author names is changed to a "small square"... odd...

Are you using the Send to Device or Save to Disk options? The Send to Device options is the recommended way and it should not have these effects.

Yup, "send to device" and/or "send to device slot B" for the SD card.

Are you sending the raw text files, or letting them be converted to a format such as EPUB or LRF. If you send raw text files, then the Sony Reader will not be able to pick uip any metadata.

He is sending TXT files to the reader. While calibre will send the metadata to the reader, the reader will often overwrite it with the filename as the tile and unknown as the author when dealing with TXT files. The easiest way to avoid this is to convert to either LRF or EPUB first.
