I read that the first time when it was called _Mr. Darcy Takes a Wife_..in the carriage, in the bedroom, up against a wall, on a coffee table leaving butt sweat behind for the servants to clean up... A remarkably boundary-free book, that. I don't know if my delicate nerves can handle another.

Hee. The one that was like that which I remember reading is The Darcys and the Bingleys, wherein Mr Darcy initiates Mr Bingley in the joys of the matrimonial bed*, using a copy of the Kama Sutra. For bonus fun, guess which one of the sisters is the surprise lesbian character.

* But not in a demonstrative hands-on fashion, iirc. You'll be wanting Pride/Prejudice for that.

Oooh, I have that one too but I haven't read it yet. It was part of the Sourcebooks Jane Austen giveaway. Oh, well, slash is part of the fanfic milieu, I just kind of didn't expect it to be published and sold...

Well, they've actually published modern-day AU high school fanfic of P&P. Not to mention time-travel self-inserts which hijack the main romance with an OC who is totally not the author's avatar!*

Mere slash is practically staid next to that when it comes to picking from the fandom coffers.

Personally, I'm kind of hoping for professionally published who's-the-daddy mpreg evil twin switch wingfic once they run out of vampire variants. With sex pollen as a motivator.

* I'm not slagging this one. The TV adaptation† was brilliant, what with "I believe this gentleman's name is Mr Tinky Winky", "We'll have twenty children and name them all Amanda!", and giving an entirely new interpretation to "Netherfield".

† ETA: Oops, turns out this has nothing to do with the Austen-inspired novel of the same name.
