epub -> mobi. Blank pages in Kindle 2, but not Kindle for PC

This is a comic book, dedrmed. Poking around in the epub's OEPBS/images directory, I see numerous PNGs, ranging from 262x600 to 545 x 413. There's also a 584x754 PNG that's the cover image.

Anyways, when I view it in Kindle for PC, it looks great.

When I try to read it on my Kindle 2, there are interleaved blank pages nearly everywhere.

Seems like this is just a formatting issue -- things getting resized a touch too large. Advice on how to tweak it?

(Does Output Profile only control margins? Are there other settings I can tweak? I tried setting the margins to 0 points. Do I need to go the other direction? Does that even do anything?)

Thanks!
