Used DX... How to figure out whether it is DXi..?

Hello,

I am about to buy a used DX. The seller is in the US and tells me the unit is 3G/GPRS... Does this mean this is a DXi?

Anyone care to tell me if both the DX and DXi have 3G/GPRS connections, and if so, any means of differentiating them?

Evidently, the million $ question is to figure out whether a US DX with 3G/GPRS can do global wireless...

You should be able to tell from the serial number, but this may be a question to ask over on Amazon. I only have a K2, but mine is i. The beginning of the serial number tells you, but they're different on a DX. I've seen it posted over there, but sorry, don't remember which thread it was.

Just turn on TTS. If it talks in an Eastern European accent, it's a DXi.

The US DX is not capable of international connection.

Both have 3G, but only the Int'l DX is capable of international connection. The difference is determined by the first few digits of the serial number:

US DX = B004 (Sprint)

Int'l DX = B005 (AT&T)
