Thanks Kovidgoyal, you're the man for building this and providing so much support!
I tried that solution last night but it didn't work. I'll give it another shot. My desktop is a new machine so it has never had the Sony software on it, then I put it on there later on last night, trying different things. I'll uninstall the Sony software and Calibre, and uninstall any remainders if they still appear in the device manager. Then I'll install Calibre fresh, manually installing prs500.inf. Restarting after the uninstall and install just for good measure. |

The trick is to uninstall the drivers, then plug in the reader. When Windows propts to install the software for your new hardware, point it at C:\Program Files\calibre\drivers Awesome! |
