I'd like to nominate Gulp by Mary Roach.

The alimentary canal—the much-maligned tube from mouth to rear—is as taboo, in its way, as the cadavers in Stiff, and as surreal as the universe of zero gravity explored in Packing for Mars. Just a quick note. I read Stiff by Mary Roach and I really enjoyed it. She's the author of Gulp. So I do think that will be an excellent read.
