PRS-T3 T3 Japanese to EU firmware

I recently purchased a PRS T3 from Japan, apparently Sony decides there shouldn't be any english font options save from the original font. Now this asinine of an idea really pisses me off, at the very least they should've include the additional font options despite the japanese OS interface.
Therefore, would it be feasible to flash the japanese firmware with EU firmware? or if there are any alternatives to display custom fonts, Please suggest. Cheers for the help.

I'd like to buy the same reader and the only way to get a cheap one is to buy it in japan. So I hope I can help. If you get it to work it would help me.
If the localisation is really on the firmware you can forget it. There would be no other way than to flash the firmware. But I don't think that localisation is done on the firmware because localisation is something the operating-system should do. The german wikipedia-website says that the operating-system is android for the sony prs-series and android is linux-based. So it should be possible to change some files in the filesystem to get it to work. I found some localisation-related information at the android-developer-website.

Another way would be to get some other linux-os (debian for example) on the hardware to work. It works for the kobo and the kindle e-readers, so it should also work for the sony. (I only found information about kobo and kindle).
