collection being based on the Series name

How do I avoid that the device makes a collection based on the Series name?

I have some books that I created a collection name for in the My shelves column. After sending to device, the device have nicely created a collection with the specified name. So far so good.

But the device also created a collection with the same name as the name of Series of these books.

The device doesn't make any collections. You do, either manually or via calibre. If the calibre is creating a collection using the series name, then you have the driver configured to do this. If you look at the configuration of the driver, it probably has "series" as one of the collection columns. Remove it, and the collections will no longer be created.
