Mack Bolan Series
I was wondering if anyone had heard of the Mack Bolan series by Don Pendalton and other various authors. I was browsing a book store and found a couple of these books, but saw they were numbered in the #301 area. Is there really that many books?
I checked out Don Pendalton's website and saw only about 20 or so books from that series. Also checking Amazon and Barnes and Noble websites didn't really lead to anything either. If anyone has read these I would like to know how they are, and if they are good pure action novels. Sometimes it's good to read all fluff, no substance. Kind of like movies. Thanks! |

Check out the Mack Bolan Wikipedia entry, apparently there are over 600 books featuring Mack Bolan.

Yes they do, but not the originals going back to 1969 to about 1996. Don Pendleton died in 1995.

I was actually able to find the original books on some Russian website. I had no idea what the site said, but at least the links were in English.
Very good books. Apparently this is what the Punisher comics were taken after although I think Marvel will never admit it. |

Indeed!
However from the point of view of a teenager, some of the most fun reading. After all it was classic wish fulfilment, doing what the Government wasn't doing. As such it was probably as tripe as most Comics were then and are today. Personally, can't stand the new ones that have come out recently. While one can appreciate the originals as a product of the time and era, the new ones are just.... |
