Conversion Input Format Options

Hi. Am using Calibre 0.8.6 and I only seem to have the ability to convert from 4 certain input formats TXT, Comic Input, PDF and FB2. Can't work out how to add EPUB to this list! Thanks

Not sure what you mean - there are a lot more formats you can convert from than that.

For any given book you will only be offered the options corresponding to the formats you currently have loaded into your Calibre library for that book.

I have some Word documents (doc format) in the Calibre Library. When I try to convert to Mobi it says it can't find a document of the correct format. In the Preferences under Input Optins for Conversion I only have 4 file types listed, none of which is Doc and I can't seem to add to this list.

The 4 formats listed in the preferences are simply ones for which you can set format specific preferences - calibre can handle a lot more.

Doc is not a supported format for conversion. You can instead save the file from word as rtf or html (filtered).

Thanks - that explains it very simply! Saved it as a txt and did it that way.
