Pro 2.2.1 alpha - epub im Adobe Viewer

Der Adobe Viewer kann nun auch epub lesen mit Einstellungen zu Fonts, Schriftänderungsschritte, also mit welcher Größe sich die Schrift ändert durch betätigen der Zoom-Tasten, Zeilenabstand und Seitenränder sowie die Textrichtung.

Ein Pocketbook besitze ich momentan nicht, stehe aber vor der Entscheidung, ob Pocketbook Pro 912 oder Onyx Boox M92. Mal abgesehen vom Preisvorteil des Pocketbooks (ich bekäme Studentenrabatt) scheint Pocketbook vor allem wegen der Unterstützung hier in Deutschland und im deutschen Teil dieses Forums einen dicken Pluspunkt zu bekommen. Dem Boox M92 wird dagegen manchmal ein etwas besseres Display und kürzere Reaktionszeit zugeschrieben. Rein vom Aussehen her: es wirkt meiner Meinung nach etwas moderner als die Pocketbooks. Aber der Hersteller existiert hier in Deutschland quasi nur über ereader-store.de...

Gewöhnlich bin ich unter Linux unterwegs und schreibe mir auch gerne mal selbst kleine Helferskripts oder sogar ganze Programme, wenn ich irgendwas vermisse. Nun läuft ja auf den Geräten von Pocketbook ein "linuxoides" Betriebssystem. Wie sieht es da mit kleinen Skripten und Tools aus, die man mal nach Bedarf eben selbst programmieren kann? Was ist mit einem SDK? Auf dieser Seite tut sich ja schon länger nichts mehr: http://pocketbook-free.sourceforge.net/en/sdk.shtml. Und das, obwohl inzwischen mehrere neue Firmware-Versionen für die großen Pocketbooks erschienen sind.

(Weil meine Frage auf ein SDK abzielt und das doch viel mit der Firmware zu tun hat, hielt ich das hier für den besten Ort.)

Das Display des PB hat eindeutig Einschränkungen hinsichtlich des Kontrasts besonders bei PDF-Dateien (Typ Vizplex) und das Gerät bzgl. der Geschwindigkeit wie ich hier schon ausführlich beschrieben habe. Und vom Aussehen lass dich bloss nicht täuschen: "modern" ist nicht immer "gut bedienbar". Das Gerät ist äusserst hochwertig verarbeitet und die Tastenbedienung excellent.

Ich finde die Opensource Politik von PB sehr sehr gut. Und seitdem ich seit ein paar Tagen als Tester bei der neue Alpha-Firmware mitmache (Google Translate lässt grüßen, um die anderen Posts im Bugtracker zu verstehen) - hey das macht einen sehr guten und offenen Eindruck.

Es gibt aber genug Beispielprogramme und besonders im englischen Forenteil jede Menge Tips und Erweiterungen. Im Wiki ist eher wenig zu finden, habe daher eine Seite erstellt und hoffe, dass hier in Zukunft ein wenig mehr zu sehen ist.

Ich habe das Gerät erst seit kurzer Zeit, so kann ich hier zur Softwareentwicklung noch nicht wirklich so viel sagen, sehe aber - besonders nach dem Update auf die Alpha-Firmware - dass hier sehr aktiv gearbeitet wird.

Fazit: wenn man mit den Einschränkungen des PB leben will, dann ich kann das PB empfehlen (ohne das M92 in Händen gehabt zu haben!).

Onyx hat übrigens auch ein SDK. Was das leistet und wie es da Updates oder mit Shellskripts aussieht, kann ich dir nicht sagen.

Ich hatte vor dem Pocketbook Pro 902 das Onyx Boox M90 und musste das Onyx wieder zurückgeben, da es hinsichtlich der Funktion und Verarbeitung völlig unbefriedigend war.
Das Pearl eInk des Onyx ist etwas kontrastreicher, besonders bei pdf Wiedergabe, aber so riesengroß ist der Unterschied nun auch nicht. Der 800 MHz Prozesseor des Onyx ist ein bisschen schneller beim Seitenaufbau, aber auch da ist der Unterschied nicht riesig.

Die Software des Onyx ist allerdings extrem fehlerbehaftet, es gibt auch nur ein Jahr Garantie, die Bedienungtasten sind wacklig und wenig vertrauenerweckend und ich hatte auch gleich beim Auspacken ein Hard- uind Softwareproblem, Endkontrolle also gleich null.
Da die Onyx-Modelle auch noch teurer als die von Pocketbook sind, fand ich das alles sehr unbefriedigend.

Ja, dass das M90 eine völlige Fehlkonstruktion war, ist inzwischen bekannt. Aber Besitzer des M92 haben fast nur Positives zu berichten. Insbesondere seit der neuen Firmware wird die Laune im englischen Onyx-Forum immer besser...

Über schlechte Verarbeitung und wackelige Tasten hat sich keiner beschwert - M92 hat nur Lobpreisungen diesbezüglich in allen Foren. Die Verarbeitung und Materialien sind SEHR GUT!

Über Extrem Fehlerbehaftete Software - auch nicht mehr aktuell!

Heyheyhey, hier gab es wohl ein Missverständnis: x_holger schrieb über das Modell M90 und da kann man seinen Frust schon nachvollziehen - das Gerät war wirklich Schrott. Booxtor, du meinst das neueste Modell M92 und hast natürlich recht, wenn du diesbezüglich auf die guten Rezensionen verweist.

Also cool bleiben, keiner will hier (ohne Grund) etwas schlecht machen.

@ Forkosigan

Ich habe mir vor einigen Tagen das PB 611 gekauft, und lese darauf vorzugsweise pdfs im Landscape-Modus; dabei stelle ich auf "Breite anpassen". Was ich als äußerst störend empfinde ist, dass ich mit den "großen Butterfly-Tasten" dann nicht nach oben oder unten blättern kann, sonder immer auf die nächste Seite komme. Den "unteren" Teil des pdf kann man nur abrufen, wenn man den Multitaster in der Mitte verwendet. Das empfinde ich als unbequem, da die "Trefferfläche" bei den Butterflytasten deutlich größer ist und man angenehmer blättert.

Für das nächste Release würde ich mir wünschen, dass man mit den großen Tasten nicht automatisch die nächste Seite aufruft, sondern den unteren Teil, und dann erst auf der nächsten Seite (oben) landet.

Das Konfigurieren der Tasten via Menü hat leider nichts gebracht.



Nachrag: Soeben stelle ich fest, dass man beim pdfviewer im Portrait-Format bei Einstellung "Breite anpassen" das pdf nicht nach unten oder oben scrollen kann. Alle Tasten blättern stehts zur vorherigen oder nächsten Seite; der Multibutton zoomt jeweils herein oder heraus. Damit ist der pdfviewer mit diesen Einstellungen unbrauchbar. M. E. ein Bug (oder doch ein Feature ?)

Bei mir ist seit dem Update von 2.0.5(6?) auf 2.1.2 der pdfviewer auch nicht mehr zu gebrauchen. Mit den Richtungstasten scrollt die Anzeige immer gleich zweimal hintereinander, egal ob in Hoch- oder Querlage. Die großen Tasten blättern immer zur nächsten Seite.
Jetzt muss ich wieder den Adobe-Kram benutzen, der scrollt zwar richtig, aber die Bereiche überlappen nicht, sodass man im ungünstigsten Fall den Zoomfaktor wechseln muss um Formeln oder einzelne Textzeilen lesen zu können.

Im englischen Teil tauchte die Frage auf ob die 15.6 FW vom PB360+/512 auch mit dem 360+/511 kompatibel ist.
Kannst du da vielleicht direkt drauf antworten bzw. hier, dann leite ich es weiter?

Wird es noch einen Firmware update für den "pro603" geben, oder soll ich mir den "622touch",
welcher weniger als die hälfte kostet aber doppelt soviele Funktionen bei ausgereifte software bittet, kaufen?
