Open Documents To Go. Open Word To Go. Select local files. Find the folder with your file and select it to open. Some files from old Word-versions do not open. You have to convert them first on your PC to a more recent version. Good luck.

I have tried your directions and upgraded my Docs to Go also. But it still says " This file cannot be opened because it appears to be a plain text file." Does that ring a bell? Any ideas with that one? Or am I out of luck?

Not all DOC files are Word documents. A plain text file can be given the DOC extension. Copy the file to a PC or Mac and try opening it in a plain text editor. If it looks okay, then it is indeed a plain text file.
The ES File Explorer I believe has a built in plain text editor - you can try opening the file with a long tap in ES File Explorer and see what happens. |
