Too-wide window
I have a problem with calibre 0.6.17 on OS X 10.5.8.
I did not notice exactly when it began, but at some point the UI window became 4x wider than my G4 PowerBook window. When I pull to the end of the window and try to size it down, it won't. I can resize it up or down, but it is fixed in its width. It may be just a coincidence, but I noticed that the width is approximately the same length as some very long search strings that I had input, which are still present in the search dropdown "memory" box. I wonder if those long strings are causing the problem. I thought I would post here first to see if this is a known problem and if there is a workaround, otherwise I'll file a bug. I did try finding the search strings, but I suspect they are stored in the metadata.db file in the Calibre Library. I can't find them anyway to clear them. Suggestions? |

This bug will be fixed in the next release. In the meantime delete
~/Library/Preferences/calibre/gui.py and refrain from entering long strings until the next release |
