Demo Kindle Keyboard USB Problems

Hi,

I just purchased a Kindle Keyboard in Demo mode. The USB drive gives me quite a few problems
First of all if the Demo Version is present, I cannot connect to the USB drive at all! It only shows up on the kindle for like a second and goes directly back; it charges without any problems.
In Recovery Mode however, I can connect to the USB drive without any problems. If I try to flash a different image, I cannot connect the device in Ubuntu (it shows up as it should as Freescale under Mac OS X, however since Mac OS X does not support HID thus imx_usb_loader that does not help...); I only get error messages:
Spoiler:

(I connected to USB through Diagnostics in between)

Lastly, I should say, that I don't have any problems with my Kindle Touch to enable USB downloader mode and use imx_usb_loader.
Any suggestions? Maybe Windows might help, but I am current unable to install Windows on my Macbook. Do you think it is something hardware related or does it just have something to do with the software? Soon I will also have a serial cable, so the serial console would be a solution soon.
Thanks in advance! Mobileread is an amazing community!
