so tempted, but as both our 505's are still working just fine, I can't really justify it [yet]

Do you know of anywhere in the uk where I can buy one for £50-£90? New.
Until then, sticking with my 505. |

Never mind. The 505 is still serving me well. Imho the best reader Sony designed.

Fry's should go out of business given the type of business they do. They put things on sale and then don't allow online ordering. DOWN WITH FRY'S!

This happens pretty often at our local Frys, which is pretty disorganized - their online system will say something is out of stock, but if you go and look, you can find one tucked away somewhere on a shelf. Of course, it happens the other way sometimes too - the system will say it's in stock, and it won't be when you get there. Win some, lose some, but glad I won this one. |

I think Frys must be closing out the Sony Readers. The fancy display with the advertising is beaten up and the demo unit is gone at our local store. And, when I talked to the sales associate to verify the price on the last one they had left (that I bought), he said he didn't think they were going to get any more in. He had the impression they weren't going to carry Sony Readers any more. So in that case, if it's a close-out, it's understandable they only have spotty availability - what's left in stock at their stores.
