When the e-reader is connected to the computer via USB cable, it should go into mass storage device mode and show up as "U-Disk" in the left side panel of ADE. Click and hold (with the left mouse button) the ebook you wish to transfer, drag it over to U-disk, and let go. When the transfer finishes, press the return key on TB to get it back into normal reader mode. Your ebook will be in the Digital Editions folder of the reader.

I have the books in adobe and I drag 3 pdf from my Liabrary
When I went to open on the TB statement was il legal and can not open I have other pdf files that move from calibre with no troble When I move there 3 pdf files from Calibre they come and and when open it show the pages on the bottom but the pages are blank Is my problem the 3 pdfs that I opened from my Library and not a TB problem no other problems with my TB first situation Thank you Jim |

good news this beautiful sunday morning.
Got up early and said I am going to try to transfer books this morning the drm did cooperate yesterday This was before church I open drm and drag may first epub book it drag this morning and did not yesterday I disconnnected and turned on the tb found the book there and creossed my fingers and opened the book IT WORKED I turned off TB and then tried the process again with the 2nd epub book It transfered this morning and was able to open two now transfer and opened, I said I will try the pdf now (did not open yesterday) turned tb back on open drm and transfer the first pdf closed the tb open it agian and found the pdf in the file crossed my fingers and attempted to open the file open A big smile came on my face I was able to transfer the other 2 pdf library books I am a very happy man one question at this time when I connect the TB to computer and do anything when I disconnect and turn off and then on again the clock has lost the correct time Am I doing something wrong otherwise I still have a big smile on my face and I am very happy now thank you for all your help JIm My smile will remain today until I try something else Thank you Guys Jim |

I notice today that On my main TB I found and file called THUMBNAILs and in it files that looked like garbage name and I could not delete and of them when I connected the tb to my computer and looked at the file

two items
First clayw1p1 did you get a new tb from Augen yet as they promised ? 2nd would it be nice-- I used a palm unit for the past 5 years and I was always able to backup it on my computer would it be nice if each night would be able to back up the TB with the computer incase there would be a problem this is another thought for augen. do you guys agree with this Thank you Jim |

I would back up my book files and use the reformat utility. That will remove the corrupt files that cannot be deleted.

Things Have Gone From Bad to Worse
It's been a week or more since my last post. Since that time I have been told by Augen Customer Service that I missunderstood and that I was not being sent a new unit. That's fine, never really needed that, just wanted to get it fixed. After trying two firmware upgrades, my Landscape View is still upside down. I contacted Augen Returns and they told me to send a copy of the receipt and they would send me an RMA number to send the unit back for repairs. Three times I have sent them copies of the receipt without any response. I even faxed their Corporate Headquarters without any satisfaction. I get absolutely no response from them at all. To say the least, it's been very discouraging. At this point it looks like my only option is to return the unit to Kmart for a full refund.
Initially I thought the Customer Service was okay, but now it looks like I was mistaken. It's to bad too, I liked the unit even with all its quirks. It still can't keep time and the SD Card is only recognized half the time. Let the Buyer Beware! I no longer recommend this unit to anybody! |

Augen customer service is pretty shabby, but take a look at post #16 of this thread:
https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...t=92893&page=2 An official update is allegedly planned for release on August 30th which is supposed to address the accelerometer screw-up from the previous update and the SD card issues. Of course, Augen could issue a statement to that effect in the "News" section of their CS site, but they seem to prefer keeping customers in the dark. |

Sorry about that. Remember I got mine from Heatlland and it came with the 7/22 update that they talked about.
I would recomend that you return to Kmart and get one from JR heartland and JR each came with with the 7/22 version I am very happy and proud with my unit because of the help you guys have given to me I would also recommend that hold off from the return and lets see what is the 8/30 update is and what it will fix. my unit does not keep good time yesterday I did not have to reset back maybe I was just reading also I have trouble with barnes and noble and getting epub books because of 9.0 and my version is 9.1 but I am talking with B&n and about it they only other process is that I do not know how to get a WMA file from the library and I am working with that situation . Epub and PDF work fine all the time Thank you guys keep smiling. Jim |

Thanks for all the advice, it's appreciated, but just a little too late. While on the road today, I received a call from Augen with an RMA number. When I got home, I immediately boxed it up, created a label and put it in the mail. If they can fix it, I'll be happy. They assure me I'll be happy with the fix. Let's keep our fingers crossed.
