A question about covers

I just spent some time hunting down a nice high rez cover image for a book. The image I dug up is 1256x2024, but when use it for the cover image in Calibre it gets downscaled to 992x1600 and then when I convert the book (Mobi) to ePub is gets downscaled again to 382x616.

Now, I didn't spend the time to find a good high rez copy of the cover to ultimately end up with a crappy looking 382x616 image. Is there a setting somewhere I'm not seeing that will make Calibre leave the image alone?

TIA

There is a 'Tweak' that affects covers. You might read the notes and see what it says is default.
ALSO, your selected device profile might be interacting (reducing) the image on send.

Preferences->Tweaks maximum cover size and set the output profile in the conversion dialog to Tablet, and no resizing will happen.

Thanks from me as well, I was also having my high-res images downsized and wondering why.
