Hacks DX owners, why won't you help?

I've put in a few requests (via message posts and PM) asking DX owners to help with the Visual Kindle Guide wiki by supplying screen grabs for the DX hacks.

No one has answered the call for help. Why? We're a community trying to help each other get the best out of our readers. It's just a few screen grabs. You don't even have to write the instructions, just provide some images.

I've considered ordering a DX for the 30 day trial just to get the grabs but I can't do that every time a new hack comes out, so I really need your help.

Please help me to help other DX owners.

OK, I'll bite. I was the one you sent PM asking for unspecified screen grabs for my screensaver hack. I already provided them in the relevant thread and don't have anything else to add.

If you need something specific - you should explicitly state what you want - I'm not a mind reader.

I'm sorry if you are feeling offended and that I was specifically talking to you (you aren't the only non-responder). I'm not expecting anyone to be a mind reader and I would have gladly gone into more detail about what was needed if you had responded.

Hey daffy, I own a kindle DX, but don't know anything about writing programs. I can follow instructions and know how to use kindlepid and kindlefix (but only because someone put very detailed instructions online). I'd rather not brick my DX because it's expensive and I use it a lot for studying in school, but I have received a lot of help from the forums here and would like to give back. If there's something I can do with my limited knowledge let me know.

P.S. I would also need to be told how to take screen grabs, because I don't know how to do that either.

Oh, sorry daffy!! I've just been loading client files on my DX. I've barely done anything else with it. I haven't tried any of the hacks .... then again, I don't think I've hacked my other Kindles either.

What do you need me to try out?? I'll try to find the time.

They've all sent them back waiting for a large screen reader that has full PDF support.

I just don't hack my Kindle.. sorry. The hacks available don't offer enough advantage to make it worth the effort for me or the slight chance of messing it up.

Honestly, I own a DX and would love to hack on it, but these days I just don't have any time. In fact, I would love to hack on my iLiad and haven't had time for that either, recently.

Thank you very much Tyler, you rock! I appreciate your offer. If you haven't used any of the hacks, I wouldn't want you to try them just for this guide. Hopefully, there are some DX owners who have already hacked their DXs
and won't mind repeating the process for the screen grabs.

Oh, and to make a screen grab, press Alt+Shift+G. The resulting .gif files will be stored in the "documents" folder of your DX.

Thanks Ricky, if you're comfortable I'm looking for images for the KindleDX Screen Saver Hack (the one to change the images not disable the mode). I'm looking for images equivalent to those for the Kindle 2 Screen Saver Hack. These would be screen grabs from a computer and not the DX.

I would re-use the K2 images but I don't know if the directory structure of the DX is exactly the same as K2. Also I think it might be confusing to see "Kindle" as the drive name if it really should say "Kindle DX" or "KindleDX".

There is also the KindleDX Font Hack which needs computer and DX grabs to similar to those of K2 Kindle Font Hacks

If you're comfortable with either or both of those, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!
