The Spellman Files - $1.99 for two weeks (Multi Format/Kobo)
This is the first in a series of novels about a San Francisco family based detective agency. Written like a screen-play but entertaining with some fun characters.

For $1.99 it's a great intro to the books.

It IS funny - I've read it and the second in the series, Curse of the Spellmans, in DTB from my library. Unfortunately the e-book versions of the rest of the series are pricey - $7.99 to $11.99. And the four book "Spellman e-book box set" is a whopping $36.99 - over $9 a book, or even more if you just bought the first one at the discounted price and need only three! I'm not sure why they bothered to make a "box set" out of it at that price.

This reminded me of the series, and I'll have to take a look for the next one the next time I go to the library. I did buy the discounted one though - I wouldn't mind re-reading it, and I like to "reward" reasonably-priced backlist e-book titles by buying them. And, it gave a sale, however small, to my local indie bookstore since it was available through Google books at that price...

Good to know, sufue. If I like it I will just wait for the prices to go down or go on sale. Unfortunately, so far at least, it's usually a long wait with S&S.

I agree. When you can buy the Game of Thrones box'd set for $19 - the Spellman set is way over priced.

But - buy the first book. It sends a message that $2 is a good price. Add the others to your To Be Read list. Hopefully the price on the others will drop.

If its coming up at $1.99 for you then you can probably use the Firstreadca1 code on it to make it 99c
