I ran the demo on this and it does look like they have some good idea's. I agree great for students/info workers... not really so great for serial reading of fiction.

I think that this marketing thing from the web site is pretty funny. It is flash so I couldn't cut/paste it, but I took a picture of itL

I just started grad school and I'm waiting for more choice in large-screen devices. This looks rather clunky, but their website compares it to the size of a regular text book which kind of puts it in perspective. Annotation and highlighting are key for the way I study. I guess it's between this, the new Irex (if the annotation features show up), and the QUE.

I went to their website expecting to be disappointed but was pleasantly surprised. I guess we'll all find out more in Feb. if they can actually make that date.

Which would account for the need for a big frame. These things break if they are torqued so the frame must be rigid.

My only gripe is when i tried to pre-order it, i got the usual "american credit card/shipping address routine" and alas i don't know anyone in the states. Now comes the task of working around that

I don't think this one (The Que) will be susceptible to that. Considering the screen is all plastic... it has no glass substrate. They claim this makes the unit much more durable, and I tend to believe that.

Yea plastic logic has continuously claimed that they are using a completely different type of technology (plastic based electronics) and have demonstrated their screens flexing. However they've stated that at least their initial devices will all be rigid.

An ereader that has to be recharged after 6 hours is bad. It might be nice for students, but even then... 6 hours?

Yea the battery life is a bit of a bummer, but im reserving judgement for what that means exactly, 6 hours of using/intereacting with both screens, just the e-ink display etc etc.

Small step in the right direction, but I wouldn't buy this unless I lost a pretty major bet.

That 6 hours is bad. I like the size, and the dual function. The design does make it look like a baby toy, but I love that it can fold all the way back on it self. If they had a way of disabling the lcd side completely so the eink side could use little power like it should.

Looks interesting. 9.7" screen sounds good. I'd probably wait till it was out and see what the reviews say before considering it though. Not that I've a choice seen as I live in Europe

The comparison chart is interesting, but doesn't the Sony Daily Edition have audio? MP3?
