Why not offer the serialized pieces by subscription? Or, to update the rather old notion of publishing by subscription to a more Internet-appropriate paradigm, why not sell subscription that grants early access to the serialized pieces?
e.g.: Chapter 1 is made freely available on August 1st, but early access (let's say starting July 15, 2 weeks prior to free availability) can be purchased however long in advance. That would give some "tangible" incentive for people to provide financial support, instead of just relying on their being charitable, but would still ultimately release the chapters freely in the spirit of Internet-friendly sharing. - Ahi |
