Which Holiday do you hate/love the most?
Since the (U.S.) HOLIDAY SEASON is upon us, tell us. What holiday do yo despise or love?
My favorite is Thanksgiving - The EATING Holiday! |

it used to be Thanksgiving was my favorite before my house was destroyed. I loved having the extended family here for 2 or 3 days. having no agenda other than eating and visiting was fantastic!
I've come to loathe xmas and the commercialism of the entire ordeal. I prefer to celebrate the "return of the light" on the 21st and have done with it |

As a musician I have to nominate Christmas on top of the hate list - all those awful Christmas songs. Not the carols, which are often rather beautiful, but all those dreadful tunes like Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer, Jingle Bells (and especially Jingle Bell Rock). Corny and trite. And usually made worse by having to back some no talent "celebrity" singer who wanders in and out of key. Bah, humbug!

hmm, good one - they all get at least one point as they are a day off of work.
I'm not sure I've got a favorite, although Thanksgiving would be up there, definitely not Christmas for the commercialism and the general chaos surrounding the entire time. No one seems to do things because they want they all seem to do them because they think they are expected too. |

Favorite: Thanksgiving - start of the holiday season, love being with family, eating and falling asleep
Least favorite: New Years - always a hassle to decide what to do and where to go without making anyone upset |

I hate christmas. Everybody expect you to be nice and friendly and hate it, hat it, hate it.
Actually, I can do without most holidays, but leave me the day off from work So, I do like easter, pentacoste and ascencion. As they all give me a day off (couldn't care less about the christian tradition about them, though... not even the pagan tradition at easter...). Christmas can fall in the weekends, so I won't get anything back in return for being "nice".... |

Hmmmm.... selfishly my favorite is Xmas - as I get the most paid days off work.
But I too must prefer Thanksgiving - calm, quiet, eat till you drop into the closest recliner and watch football. |

Thanksgiving / Christmas
I started listening to Christmas music and watching Christmas videos last month. edit: just reread the title and the above are my favorites. I really don't hate any. Last edited by tubemonkey; 10-29-2010 at 12:41 PM. |
