I think you can send a code to /dev/input/event# to simulate the power button press.

For what I've understood, rtcwake can't work:
http://www.openstora.com/phpBB3/view...php?f=6&t=1732 I think you can sleep anything but the cpu... or do a physical timer, maybe a charger with a socket timer, using acpid to listen to the USB event. Or you could train a monkey. |

Nice thread, I try to do something similar.
I work for a school and we have paper printed schedules outside of the rooms. For the big rooms i would like to have a kobo like deivce that refreshs every hour or so, showing the schedule from a google like calendar page. The kobo is just a prototype for me, alternative i could also be a nook or even a raspi with some extra display. so my goal is: - boot/wake up by timer - switch wifi on - read the webpage, save it to picture (CutyCapt) -wifi off - show the picture of the webpage (direct frambuffer) - sleep/shutdown what i have done yet: nothing. My Kobo arrived a few weeks ago when i was on holiday... my apprentice tried then to downgrade it (wrong anyway) and since then its broken. But next week i will get a second one and i will start from zero at my own. so i should probably start with setting up a cross-compiler environment now. any suggestions for me? Greetings Grunge |

Probably you have to download/compile and install rtc-cmos module?

Why not just look at the actual kernel source as used by Kobo? Download the whole kiot and kaboodle from https://github.com/kobolabs/Kobo-Reader and look at the various sections in the hw folder?

Maybe rtc-cmos is built into the kernel. Indeed inside the source on git kobo have a rtc-cmos.c.

Is this a firmware-thing - or a kernel thing?
Sven has a N705 Touch with Kernel 2.6.35.3-568 and firmware 1.9.17 - here it works. I am running a N905 mini with kernel 2.6.35.3-850 and firmware 2.5. could I downgrade the firmware or would this not make any difference? |

I don't really know... but I think it's more simple to do a little C program. You could ask some help to yoq.

Hello all,
next input :-) I got the config.gz from Sven´s Touch (where wakealarm is working) and compared it to my mini config.gz. config_own.xls the differences are outlined in the attached file - where the yellow ones are the only differences that matter. can someone have a look if he finds anything that could explain it? |

is it possible to downgrade the firmeware/kernel to the version that e.g. works for Sven?
It seems that I don´t get any further here. the wakealarm is missing and I would not know how to patch/recompile the kernel in this area |
