Lord of the Rings- Henneth Annun Story Archive Closing

I've got some unfortunate news for Tolkien fans. Henneth Annun Story Archive ( http://www.henneth-annun.net/, an old and important fanfiction archive and writers board), is shutting down after December. The site admin says the issue is that required site upgrades to keep hackers out would be weeks of work or hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Research and articles will hopefully be moved to a basic content hoster, and trying to get the stories archived on AO3. Nothing is settled yet, so if you want to have favorite stories around later, please download them now. You can use Calibre + the FanFiction Downloader plugin, or a standalone Fanfiction Downloader program (details here: http://www.henneth-annun.net/forums/...essageId=55476 )

Please let non-MR fans know too! There's thousands of authors and readers who loved HASA, so we want to make sure everyone hears about this. The official HASA Livejournal is a good place to check (http://hasalj.livejournal.com/ ) or the thread linked above.

I've never come across this site. My LoTR phase was quite short lived. It's a shame that a site designed this tastefully has to close down. I hope the fanfics are given shelter elsewhere and ASAP.
