Dutch newspaper tests Ajax-based e-paper

Dutch newspaper Brabants Dagblad is testing its own version of Ajax-based "e-paper" content. Even if you don't speak Hollandisch, you should check it out, it's quite fascinating:

I just note that this one seems currently free (trial?); there are also other newspapers using Tecnavia service, however most of them are only available with subscription. E.g.,

It's still a bit rough around the edges. Most content is text, but, for instance, the weather forecast is a raw 824x978 image, which you have to scroll around to see in its entirety.

Thumbs down

It seems like they're trying to work around the newspaper paradigm and it feels a little unnatural. Some things work in the hand - and newspapers do. But online ... it just feels stunted hard to get around.
