Batch convert drm-free ePub to mobi

I'm helping a friend migrate from a nook to a kindle. I want to batch convert ePub to mobi. Normally. I'd use calibre for this. However, I don't want to add her books (some of which will overlap with mine) to my calibre library. I just want to put all her ePub in a folder, batch convert, then drop into her kindle then delete from my system. She has about 500 books, most free, some retail (de-DRMed).

I think you can select a new directory for your library which you can use for your friends conversion then after you've done it switch back.
Best to ask in the calibre forum.

Calibre has a lot of command line programs just for doing batch type things - check the User Manual before you ask questions in the forum. I pretty sure they don't touch your library directory unless you tell it to.
