Probably the least attractive ereader I've ever seen.

God, that is ugly ..........................
Reminds me something vaguely electronic, but wasn't really, that my son had when he was 3, in the 90's. (I think that ended up in the garden somewhere ... ) Indeed, it looks like it may well have been designed by a 3 year-old .... Yes, a real turkey in the making - can't see any real plus points about it. And white ? No no no .... |

I was thinking about buying one this year. Now that they have removed the good parts I will not be buying.
Whoever designed that cover should be shot. Last edited by Gardenman; 10-30-2013 at 03:13 AM. |

Well, I now feel justified in jumping ship from Nook to Kobo's new Aura. It's like B&N learned nothing from their own past (the "reserved storage" snafu) nor from any of their competitors. I just hope this doesn't take their ebook store down with it when it crashes and burns, since I still prefer to buy my books there.

I was somewhat interested in what nook would come up with, but now I know, count me out.

Yeah, it really is ugly, and all out of proportion with that 20th century screen aspect ratio. I can carry my Nexus 7b in my hip pocket, but that short fat Nook just does not look very carry friendly. It does not even look very read friendly. IMHO, the aspect ratio of a paperback page is a lot closer to ideal than that short fat aspect ratio.

Wow, I am really glad I bought a spare ST glowlight. This new one looks like it was designed by a failed Wannabe Apple developer

No SDCard, no reason to buy one. I have a nearly full 16 GB card on my Nook Simple Touch, and it appears that my only options now are Kobo. They should have updated the OS and while I'm not so sure about the color of the bezel, it probably would have been fine inside the cover, assuming the new one is interchangeable with the original covers.

I'll take a look at it in the stores, but I'll probably pass. Looking at the slide show, I'm not seeing any improvement in the reading software (formatting options).

No SD slot is the decider for me. I only read side loaded books so I need to be able to put on a fair bit of my own content. I didn't mind the lack of user space with the SD card, but unless I can use all the internal space for my own books the lack of an SD card slot is no good.

Makes me glad I had already jumped the Nook ship. It's like they are TRYING to fail!
