Calibre Page Numbers

It was suggested that I ask this question here. I seem to be doing something wrong so that I am not getting page numbers with the new Calibre update. I am converting some of my pdf's to mob (pdf to epub to mobi) and then sending them via usb to my kindle but only locations are still showing. I have made sure the plug in is highlighted as it should be. The send page numbers is marked, but none of my books are getting the page numbers, or the extra file for it. I am copying and pasting my file from my mobi file, from my calibre folder (c:drive) into the documents folder on the kindle but nothing is working. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

You'll need to use send to device for pagenumbers to be transferred.

Ouch! Copying directly from the calibre directory structure is never the proper way to export a book from calibre. Use the Send to device feature.

I don't have a Kindle, but I believe you also need the Amazon 3.1(?) upgrade to your Kindle 3 for this to work.

One reason why send to device is needed is that the page numbers are in a separate file. So copying the MOBI isn't sufficient.
