Poisoned Pen Press - Mysteries

Greetings all, and happy New Year! Thought you might be interested in this publisher. See their website at http://www.poisonedpenpress.com/. Right now they have a deal on 10 ebooks for .99 each. They do have a nice little ebook section, and the ebooks are DRM-free!! Purchases result in downloadable zip file containing the book in both epub and mobi format.

Disclaimer: The only connection I have with this company is as a purchaser of their ebooks...

Happy Reading!

Thanks for the heads up!

I've read some of Beverle Graves Myers' Baroque Venice-set opera mysteries from the library and they were pretty decent. I'll be happy to scoop up the sale volume especially at that price and DRM-free and try one or two of the other offerings.

Did anyone else have a problem opening the epub file after downloading? Or am I doing something wrong?

I downloaded the zip file to my computer, clicked on open and then clicked on the epub icon. The Sony Reader Library automatically opened, but the book wasn't in it. Then I tried to import the file from My Books (where it was saved) into the library but it still didn't show up.
I often download and import from Smashwords and Baen so I don't think it's a general problem with my system, but those aren't part of zip files so there might be a step I'm missing.

This might be a silly question, but did you extract the files in the zip file?

Sometimes, if you've changed directories [download folder, desktop, etc.], then the Sony software on the computer isn't smart enough to know where your file is located and is unable to open the ebook file.

It's not a silly question. I didn't receive a prompt about extracting when the download ended, so I didn't think about it. Clicking on Open Folder showed me the two icons, so I assumed they were ready for use.
That seems to have solved it.
