^We're only three games in. When you've miscalculated on a dozen we'll look to you for betting advice.

I hope both teams go for the win in the second half. That could make for an exciting match.

2-1 for the Netherlands. I need a big finish from Spain now.

4-1. Spain is not doing themselves any favours for tiebreakers. They will probably be forced to win outright their other two matches to advance.

I don't think many people saw this result. Great outcome for the Netherlands.
They've just mentioned on the TV here that this result makes a Spain v Brazil second round match likely. |

Wow! Not a result that many would have predicted i'm sure. But really deserved by the Netherlands. Great game to watch as well.

That header from Van Persie was a beauty. Congrats to the Netherlands. They made the world champions look ridiculous.
This was indeed the first big game of the WC. In every way. |

Yikes is all I can say. Yikes.
Anyone pick Netherlands as a potential semi-finalist? Spain-Chile on Wednesday looks a lot more interesting now. |

I don't think a lot of Dutch people had thought it was possible. There wasn't a lot of orange decoration to be seen outside in the streets of Utrecht (my city), except for the pubs. Chances are by tomorrow afternoon a lot of bunting, flags and other orange decorations will be sold out.

^No doubt. That was unbelievable finishing by Netherlands. Going to hard to beat that goal for goal of the tournament and it's only day two.
