I like this and I've been looking for a free kindle calculator app for a while, but I'm scared of the usb Networking hack. I'm kind of afraid it will brick the kindle...Could you use a .bin file like with kif and KindleNote? thanks

I'm having issues copying over.
I'm using putty and when I set "mntroot rw" it works,
But when I try to access /var/ or such, I get "Permission denied"
Any idea? >.<
Also after I get into that area, how do I copy over the keystore?

Sorry for this question, you must think that it's a silly question, but I'm a linux noob. Sorry for my english, too

I've installed USBnetwork, and I ssh into my kindle.

Ok, i have the telnet on my screen. I can see my kindle's directories.
I suppose that my first command must be:

mntroot rw

and now it comes the command cp to copy that file to /var/local/java/keystore/

¿How must i use it? I have the file developer.keystore in c: (i use windows xp)

Please help me.

EDIT: I think i´ve found the way to do it here:

Thank you anyways.

If you haven't figured it out yet, a much easier way would be to copy the keystore file using a Launchpad script, which would it for you automatically without the need for the USB Hack. Look at thomass's last posts on this thread:

merge developer.keystore

I would like to try with Kalculator-0.0.2, but I already have installed Notepad, so I need to merge the developer.keystore:

To compile:
1. install python
2. path_to_your_python waf configure
3. path_to_your_python waf build
the binary would be sitting build/

Imply to know Phyton…..

Also
keytool -importkeystore -srckeystore developer-to-import.keystore -destkeystore developer.keystore

Need a Linux machine, can Kindle do It? How?

Have anyone merged this two key?

My head is spinning, so which merged key contains what, is there one for KIF, the calculator, snakes and the word editor. Like a super merged key?

Yes, that's why it's called "merged". It contains all the keys.
