When I asked about subdirecties, I meant putting all books in the same subdirectory, because as tompe said in this post (link) the directory lookup time increases, if there are a lot of books in the /eBooks folder.
But with the next firmware update maybe allowing browsing the library by directories, it would make sense to use different subdirectories. I don't think, every tag should lead to a subdirectory. Maybe tags that start with a special character or are marked in some other way. Last edited by Mhargu; 01-10-2009 at 06:05 PM. |

I'd like to see the books copied into subdirectories based on the sorting order Author's name. So books by Charles Dickens would go in a
Dickens, Charles subfolder. I also like the idea of being able to specify a particular subfolder through a tag. How about defaulting to an author name folder, but if you get a tag PATH/subfolder/subsubfolder (where PATH is a just marking the tag as a default path) it would override the default author folder. Hmm.. it would be elegant to combine these. Perhaps have a special AUTHOR reserved word as well PATH/subfolder/AUTHOR/subsubfolder It's very easy making work for others. :-) |

Everyone who's Cybook isn't being detected with the latest release could you please run:
Code:
calibre-debug -c "from calibre.devices.scanner import DeviceScanner; s = DeviceScanner(); s.scan(); print repr(s.devices)" @plazec, No idea about the error. It doesn't have to do with the Cybook driver. Hopefully Kovid can shed some light on it. As for the virus warning. I'd say it's a false positive in a heuristic scanner. No one else is having issues. The entire project is open source so you can verify thaplazect there isn't anything nefarious yourself. Also, the bug with the memory locations being switched, the next release has this fixed (hopefully). |

About subdirectories:
A lot of mp3-ripping tools give the option to copy the mp3s into folders based on certain userdefinable parameters like bandname/albumname/cd#/title, it would be amazing if we could have the same option. Also I would really love if calibres folder-hierarchy could be preserved and replicated on the cybook when using the send to device option. PS: Thank you so much for offering a solution for us Cybook-geeks Last edited by Pulp; 01-11-2009 at 06:49 AM. |

@kafka399, Hal isn't picking up the main memory properly. Attach the file /usr/share/hal/fdi/policy/20thirdparty/10-calibre.fdi
@pdurrant, Looks like I missed an import. OS X support should be working in the next release. |

Just waiting for the mobi-support right now Keep up the good work |

My 64MB Cybook (running firmware 796) is recognized fine with Calibre 0.4.127 (other than the known issue of the internal and SD card lablels being swapped).
