McCutcheon, George Barr: Brewster's Millions. v1, 15 Jan 2008

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:

Brewster's Millions is a novel written by George Barr McCutcheon in 1902, originally under the pseudonym of Richard Greaves. It was adapted into a play in 1906, which opened at the Globe Theatre (now called the Gielgud Theatre), and the novel or play has been made into a movie nine times (including twice in India). The 1985 version starring Richard Pryor and John Candy is perhaps the best known.

For those of you who are not familar with the book or the films here is a brief synopsis:

Montgomery Brewster is a poor man, until he inherits a large sum of money. However, the inheritance comes with a catch: he has to spend every penny of his new fortune within 30 days! Success means he'll gain an even larger sum, but should he fail he remains penniless -- and the lawyers get the estate...
