Le plus simple est de lire un bon mode d'emploi lui même en latex.

Si tu aime avoir l'esprit formaté pour quelque chose qui est mal foutu, c'est ton choix/probleme (en plus latex n'est pas prévu pour du A4 ou autres format "standard" en france, mais pour des tailles de pages a l'américaine)

Et ce qui est "bon" dans le rendu de LaTeX ce n'est pas les set de script de LaTeX en lui meme mais TeX. Meme si je n'aime pas TeX pour son language, LaTeX a pas mal de défaut qui sont assez rédibitoires (et il est assez/trop rigide)

Bon c'est vraiment du hors sujet.
Mais perso, je me fous de savoir si j'utilise LaTeX ou TeX (bien que je préfere LaTeX, c'est plus simple).
Ce qui m'intéresse c'est de pouvoir écrire mon texte sans me soucier de la mise en page (souvent imposée par un éditeur), pouvoir taper des équations sans avoir à cliquer sur une palette immonde, et que ces équations soient parfaitement rendues, que le texte soit propre et que dans 10 ou 20 ans je puisse toujours ouvrir mon document.

Et je ne vois pas du tout ce qui est mal foutu dans l'utilisation.
C'est peut être fait par et pour des gens comme moi

Je pense que tu n'a jamais du tenter de pousser au dela de ses limites et/ou taper sur des set de commands qui sont mal foutu

J'ai été un peu méchant LaTeX gère maintenant le A4.. Avec de grandes marges (cf la doc que tu as posté toute a l'heure)

C'est marrant, mais tous les arguments contre latex dans ce fil, je ne les trouve pas bons.

Figure : je trouve plus simple d'utiliser un vrai logiciel qui me fait de vraies figures que je peux modifier à l'extérieur de mon éditeur de texte. Je peux les réutiliser dans d'autres documents facilement.

Polices : une ligne et on change de police.

Obligation de recompiler : si c'est le prix à payer, cela ne me gène pas.

La gestion des gros documents c'est quand même le jour et la nuit avec un éditeur wisiwig (j'ai des exemples tous les jours).

Je n'ai pas à me poser des questions et m'arracher les cheveux avec des numéros de figures/tables/références/notes/chapitre...

Je n'ai pas à utiliser un éditeur d'équation poussif qui à un rendu plus que moche (pour rester poli).

Je fais même mes transparents avec latex.

Alors je comprend très bien que des gens n'accrochent pas, mais franchement on n'a rarement fait mieux pour mon utilisation.

Tu fait bien comme tu veux hein ^^ Si c'est la méthode que tu prefere, je m'en fou personnement ça ne changera rien a mes habitudes ni a ce que je fais ^^


Je cherche juste a montrer le pour et le contre de LaTeX, ce n'est pas un outil magique

(juste pour information, Hippo et Sally sur le forum en question sont de très gros utilisateur de LaTeX, et je pense qu'ils en connaissent bcp dessus. Flanker aussi y connais pas mal, juste que pour son experience LaTeX conviens pas si bien que ça)

Atation, je ne dirai pas à un designer de se mettre à latex, c'est en effet completement inutile dans son cas.
Je sais que dans mon cas et autour de moi, c'est pratiquement le seul outil utilisable (bon c'est pas vrai, mais bon, il faut bien un peu de mauvaise fois de temps en temps).

Ce n'est pas loin de là un outil magique, de temps en temps c'est vrai que c'est prise de tête pour faire certaines choses.
Par contre c'est un outil qui rempli le rôle dont j'ai besoin

On est donc d'accord au final

L'a l'air pas mal le cybook en rose. Mais ça serait pas trop raisonnable d'en racheter un juste pour la couleur...

J'ai bien aimer la remarque de michael : Nous en fait des e-books, pas des tablettes, c'est encore autre chose.
